Seven Advantages of Vacuum Belt Filters

Publish Date:2026-01-16 Views:44times

Vacuum belt filters are a new type of highly automated filtration equipment. Below are the advantages of vacuum belt filters:

  1. High filtration efficiency: Due to the horizontal feeding method on the filter surface, large particles in the slurry settle quickly to the filter surface because their settling velocity is greater than that of fine particles, forming a high-permeability pre-filter layer. This pre-filter layer has low resistance and effectively traps fine particles, resulting in a reasonable filter cake structure and reduced filter cloth clogging caused by fine particles. Therefore, it has low filtration resistance, high filtration efficiency, and high filtrate clarity.

  2. Good filter cake washing effect: The filter cake thickness formed on the horizontally arranged filter surface is relatively uniform, and the washing liquid is also evenly distributed on the filter cake, thereby improving the filter cake replacement washing efficiency. Because the filter surface is a relatively long and narrow strip, multi-stage co-current or counter-current washing can be easily achieved, thereby improving the filter cake washing efficiency and obtaining the highest possible washing liquid concentration.

  3. The thickness of the filter cake can be easily adjusted by changing the feed rate and the speed of the filter belt, providing good adaptability to changes in material filtration performance.

  4. The elongated shape of the filter surface allows for easy adjustment of the length distribution of the filtration, washing, and drying zones, enabling optimized process operation. Furthermore, the recovery of filtrate and washing liquid can be strictly separated as required, and the length of the drying zone can be shortened or lengthened according to the required moisture content of the filter cake.

  5. Different vacuum levels can be provided in different zones according to their vacuum requirements. For example, a high vacuum can be used in the filtration and washing zones to improve filtration and washing rates, while a lower vacuum and maximum airflow can be provided in the drying zone to reduce the moisture content of the filter cake.

  6. Two-sided spray washing (and roller washing if necessary) can be performed after each working cycle, resulting in excellent filter cloth regeneration. This extends the service life of the filter cloth and increases the equipment's production capacity, which is particularly noticeable when processing materials with low filter cake resistance.

  7. This type of vacuum belt filter can be modified to meet different application requirements based on the characteristics of the materials being processed and the process requirements.
