The plate and frame filter press is one of the primary pieces of equipment used for wastewater filtration. During long-term operation, various impurities inevitably accumulate inside the equipment. If these impurities are not cleaned in time, continuous accumulation can seriously affect the performance of the plate and frame filter press and may even lead to equipment damage.
The impurities accumulated in the plate and frame filter press are mainly concentrated in four areas: the feed inlet, the discharge outlet, the filter plates, and the filter cloth. Among these components, the first three require focused cleaning. The filter cloth generally does not require cleaning because it needs to be replaced periodically as part of regular maintenance.
Cleaning the feed inlet and discharge outlet is relatively simple. Appropriate cleaning methods and materials can be used to rinse these areas thoroughly. However, cleaning the filter plates is more difficult. This is because the filter plates are usually located inside the filter press and cannot be completely cleaned during operation. If the user has the necessary technical conditions, it is recommended to disassemble the filter plates and wash them with water to ensure effective cleaning.
