Adjustment of Sludge Discharge Speed for a Screw Press Sludge Dewatering Machine

Publish Date:2026-03-02 Views:25times

The screw press sludge dewatering machine features a high level of automation and can operate continuously for 24 hours without supervision. It is also resistant to clogging, occupies a small footprint, has low operating costs, and offers a long service life. When adjusting the sludge discharge speed of a screw press sludge dewatering machine, the following points should be considered:

1. Most screw press motors are variable-frequency motors, and their speed can be adjusted through a frequency converter. The typical operating speed is generally around 2–3 revolutions per minute.

2. The sludge discharge speed should be adjusted according to the desired discharge conditions. When the motor speed is set higher, the sludge discharge volume increases, but the moisture content of the discharged sludge will also be higher. When the motor speed is set lower, the discharge volume decreases, but the sludge becomes drier. Therefore, it is necessary to find the appropriate balance based on actual requirements.

3. The gap of the back pressure plate should not be adjusted too narrowly. If it is too narrow, it may affect the timely discharge of sludge and easily cause shaft blockage. It is recommended to keep the gap above 1.2 cm.

4. When adjusting the discharge speed, the characteristics of the sludge should also be considered. If the sludge contains a higher proportion of inorganic materials, it is better to set a relatively higher speed to prevent shaft blockage. Inorganic sludge is easier to compress and dry, and once it becomes too dry, it may not be discharged smoothly from the dewatering unit.
