A continuous vacuum filter mainly consists of a rotating drum, a storage tank, a distribution head, a power transmission device, a filter cake washing device, a stirrer, and a scraper unloading device.
The rotating drum is the main component of the rotary drum vacuum filter, primarily composed of a main shaft, bearing housing, air distribution shaft, and outer filter surface, and is placed horizontally on the storage tank.
The distribution head is a crucial component of the filter. It contacts the rotating air distribution plate via a fixed air distribution plate. Its function is to ensure that each filtration zone of the drum, during rotation, is sequentially connected to the vacuum system of the filter device through corresponding channels on the air distribution shaft and rotating air distribution plate, thereby performing the various stages of filtration, primary drying, washing, secondary drying, and unloading.
The storage tank is used to store the filtered suspension and is typically constructed from welded plates. All filter components are installed on the storage tank, which has corresponding inlets, washing inlets, drain outlets, and overflow outlets. During filter installation, the inlet, overflow outlet, and drain outlet are connected to their respective pipes. Transmission Device
The transmission device consists of two parts: the drive for the rotating drum and the drive for the agitator.
The drive for the rotating drum is generally composed of a motor and a reduction gear, with the drum's speed infinitely adjustable via a frequency converter. The speed of the agitator is generally constant.
Agitator
To prevent the sedimentation of solids in the suspension, an agitator is installed at the bottom of the storage tank. The agitator is usually powered by a reciprocating pneumatic device, or it can be powered by a crank-connecting rod mechanism powered by a motor, causing it to oscillate back and forth at a certain frequency.
Scraper Discharge Device
Ordinary scrapers are installed on one side of the tank, with an adjustable angle, used to remove the filter cake adsorbed on the filter cloth. In folded belt discharge filters, adjustable-angle scrapers are installed on the outside of the filter cloth washing tank to receive and remove the filter cake.
The scraper device of a pre-coated filter is more complex, and can be either manual or automatic.
Automatic Feed Scraper
Driven by a stepper motor or frequency converter, the scraper feeds continuously or intermittently, scraping off the filter cake along with part of the pre-coating. Additionally, depending on different filtration requirements, winding devices, spray washing devices, and filter cloth regeneration devices can be added.
