The distributor head of a rotary drum vacuum filter is a crucial component. It contacts a fixed air-distribution disc and a rotating air-distribution disc. Its function is to ensure that each filtration zone of the drum, during rotation, is sequentially connected to the vacuum system of the filtration device through corresponding channels on the air-distribution shaft and the rotating air-distribution disc, thus performing the various stages of operation: suction filtration, primary drying, washing, secondary drying, and unloading.
The distributor head is internally divided into several spaced-out sector-shaped spaces, forming suction filtration, washing, and drying zones. The fixed air-distribution disc is fixed to the cross-section of the distributor head, corresponding to the two sector-shaped space holes on the distributor head.
During filter operation, the rotating air-distribution disc rotates with the drum, while the distributor head and the fixed air-distribution disc remain stationary. To ensure a tight seal on the contact surfaces of the air-distribution discs, compression springs are evenly distributed on the outer circumference of the distributor head, pressing the distributor head firmly against the rotating air-distribution disc and maintaining sufficient sealing pressure on the contact surfaces.
